The Saint John Fire Department is appealing to people not to do any burning outside.
There’s a ban on burning in place for the entire province. Division Chief Mark Wilson says the woods and grass are tinder dry with no rain expected until the weekend.
The fire department has responded to a number of grass fires over the last week with the most serious one last Sunday in Red Head which required additional firefighting equipment to be utilised.
