To The Joy of East Siders, No More Whistles

Saint Johners in various points of city will enjoy their slumber a little more.

Beginning at 1 second after midnight, train engineers will no longer be required to sound the engine whistle at the railway crossings on Rothesay Avenue and Thorne Avenue.

It will now only be required in an emergency.

The gates, lights, and warning bells will continue to operate and signage will be installed.

The two railway crossing locations have been identified with red circles in a map provided by the City.
