SSMS Entrepreneurs Give Thanks To St. Stephen Town Council

The St. Stephen Middle School Entrepreneurial Adventure Committee following up on a successful day at their Marketplace.

The group giving a presentation to Town Council after the event was held at the Garcelon Civic Center.

Teacher Josh Cheney says the group is very appreciative to the Town for waiving the fee to rent the space at the Garcelon, “It may have been a small gesture financially, but I think it was bigger, more symbolic for the help that was offered to me personally, as their teacher, but also to the kids. And it also symbolizes your support for the work that we are doing.”

At the “Marketplace”, students created their own businesses, sold their products and ideas, and held the event open to the public.

Cheney adds it wasn’t the price tag that was a lot, but the gesture meant sixty kids didn’t need to come up with a few extra dollars needed to take part, which can sometimes be difficult for them.
