Long-Time Councillor Falls Short in Mayoral Race

Mayoral candidate Bill Farren hoping for a better result in the municipal election as he finishes third in the polls.

Farren says his advice for the new council and mayor is to do all they can to prevent taxes from going up.

“If that happens, the city that I love and everybody else loves, it’s going to put a death knell in our coffin. We’re not going to be able to create any more jobs or anything else if we raise that tax rate up,” he says.

As to whether he would re-offer in four years time, he says “never say never.”
