A provincial court judge in northern New Brunswick struck down the law making it illegal to buy liquor in one province and bring it into another.
Former M-P John Williamson, who’s the Vice-President of Research for the Atlantic Institute of Market Studies, is calling such restrictions outmoded. He argues they stunt job creation and economic growth as well as forcing consumers to pay more for what they buy.
Williamson says Premier Brian Gallant claims to be in favour of free trade and now he has a chance to prove it.
