Fredericton police say they have identified the person of interest they were searching for today and the situation on the city’s northside has been resolved.
Six schools in Fredericton: Leo Hayes, Gibson-Neill, Ecoles Les Eclaireurs, Devon Middle, Devon Park Christian School, and Harold Sappier, were placed on lockdown as police searched for a man who was carrying a gun case.

There ended up being no threat according to police.
Police say they know situations like this can be stressful for many but they appreciate the cooperation.
