The Imperial Theatre recieving a boost to its fundraising efforts through the endowment incentives component of Canada, which matches 97 cents for every dollar donated by the private sector.
MP Rodney Weston says the government matches donations to a certain amount, in this case over $43,000.
Weston says it’s clear the community supports the Imperial Theatre foundation by contributions they’ve made.
He adds the funding provides a comfort level and security the Imperial Theatre needs to ensure sustainability for years to come.
