Quebec Man To Stand Trial In Deaths Of Campbellton Boys

The former owner of an exotic pet store in Campbellton has been ordered to stand trial in the deaths of the two young Barthe brothers.

The ruling has been issued by a judge following a preliminary hearing for 39-year-old Jean-Claude Savoie of Quebec.

Savoie is facing charges of criminal negligence causing the deaths of 6-year-old Connor and 4-year-old Noah in August 2013.

The boys were sleeping in an apartment above the pet store when a python escaped its enclosure and stranged them to death.

A trial date is expected to be set sometime in January.
