The Nurses Association of New Brunswick is addressing the disappointing results in entry-to-practice exam for recent nursing graduates in the province.
A new national exam was introduced in January of this year, and it is significantly different than the previous test.
That’s according to Executive Director Laurie Janes.
She says the test is pass / fail and students get a test profile with their results.
“Which explains to them where perhaps there are some gaps in their knowledge, or skillset and they use that to readjust their study plan and try again,” says Janes.
She says if they fail twice, they lose their temporary license to work part time jobs, and that has far reaching consequences throughout the industry.
They can rewrite the test up to 4 times.
