Premier Defends Idea Of Carbon Tax

Premier Brian Gallant will be in Paris this weekend for the U-N Summit on Climate Change. He says a carbon tax is one idea under consideration and concrete steps will have to be undertaken for the province’s own economic well being.

Gallant who says there will come a time when other countries won’t trade with you unless there are concrete steps in place to combat climate change.

Interim Provincial Conservative leader Bruce Fitch argues there are better measures that can be taken such as better fuel standards for passenger vehicles and shifting to natural gas freight systems.
