The death of a 33-year-old inmate at Dorchester Penitentiary is under investigation.
Matthew Hines was found in his cell early yesterday morning in need of medical attention.
Correctional Services staff performed CPR and Hines was then rushed to the Moncton Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Hines was serving a sentence of five years for several charges including robbery.
