The Marigold Project Has A New Theme This Year Of Going Green

Every June, nearly 40,000 marigolds are planted by students along Main Street here in Saint John.

The Marigold Project is in it’s 18th year and has a new theme this year of going green.

In addition to planting marigolds, each participant will receive a spruce seedling to plant around their community.

This Thursday, 60 schools from Sussex to St. Stephen will take part in planting.

The event will include the planting of marigolds, a presentation of awards celebrating community volunteerism and the Centennial School Choir singing the Marigold Song.
