Prime Minister Trudeau says there’s no relationship more important to him than that between the federal government and First Nations and he’s promising a total renewal.
He told the Assembly of First Nations that the 2 per cent financial cap on programmes for First Nations will be lifted with significant investments in First Nations education.
Trudeau is also promising to implement the recommendations from the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and says the inquiry into the murders and disappearances of indigenous women is a priority for his government.
