An open letter has been sent to Provincial Health Minister Victor Boudreau by the New Brunswick Medical Society expressing serious concern with the firing of Dr. Eilish Cleary as Chief Medical Health Officer.
Dr. Whalen says the Medical Society finds the dismissal to be a poor ending to her work, which was award-winning.
The Medical Society would like to meet with Dr. Cleary to find out more about how this all came about.
Dr. Whalen warns if Dr. Cleary was fired because of a scientific or medical opinion she had, doctors will protest such a decision in the strongest possible terms.
