That is why Port Saint John decided five years ago to host Community Day so the city could regain its knowledge of the port.
President and CEO Jim Quinn says they will have various events for the kids on Sunday and demonstrations by Atlantic Towing and the Coast Guard in the Harbour.
Quinn says the event has many information booths for the public to learn about the companies and partners they have so people get a better feel for what happen in a port.
An on-site BBQ supports the PALS program. Community Day takes place at the Marco Polo and Diamond Jubilee Cruise Ship Terminals between 11am to 3pm tomorrow.
