An online petition is being circulated calling for referendum on bilingualism in the province.
Sharon Buchanan of Concerned Citizens for New Brunswick says the controversy over whether there should be separate school buses for anglophone and francophone students is over the top at a time when teaching jobs are being cut and schools being closed.
The province is seeking an opinion from the Court of Appeal on whether separate school buses are constitutionally mandated.
Another online petition is making the rounds calling for the resignation of Education Minister Serge Rouselle who also serves as Attorney-General.
