Hampton Turning Out To Be Interesting For The Provincial NDP

Longtime Conservative M-L-A Bev Harrison, who recently announced his retirement, will be seeking the NDP nomination in Hampton but he will not be unopposed.

Chris Rendell, an outspoken opponent of shale gas development, earlier announced his intent to seek that nomination as well, saying that political parties should not abandon their principles in exchange for electoral success.

The NDP has attracted former Liberal M-L-A’s Kelly Lamrock, who’ll be running in Fredericton and Abel Leblanc in Saint John Lancaster.

There has been speculation since the winter that Harrison was dissatisfied with how he was being treated by the Conservatives and was thinking of making a switch.
