Province To Invest In In-Hospital Diabetes Research

About one in 10 New Brunswickers have diabetes–that’s about 20% of all hospitalized patients.

The province is investing $250,000 over the next two years to research insulin therapy options and reduce the risk to patients while they’re in the hospital.

The Canadian Diabetes Association says in a statement they welcome the initiative–because better glucose control means shorter hospital stays.
