Saturday Morning Sports For February 16th

In Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action:

The visiting Moncton Wildcats pummelled the Saint John Sea Dogs 8-1.

Filip Prikryl had the lone goal for the Sea Dogs in their fourth straight loss.

Next action for Saint John is Monday afternoon when they host Halifax.

In the NHL:

Edmonton fell to Carolina 3-1, Boston blanked Anaheim 3-0, and the Rangers downed Buffalo 6-2.

Meantime, the Oilers have traded goalie Cam Talbot to Philadelphia for goalie Anthony Stolarz.

The 2019 Canada Winter Games begin in Red Deer, Alberta, on Saturday.

New Brunswick takes on Quebec in men’s hockey action at 7 p.m. Atlantic Time.

In ringette, it’s New Brunswick against Manitoba at 3:30 p.m. AT.

The men’s 1500m long-track speed skating final is at 12:30 p.m. AT and the women’s final is at 2 p.m. AT.
