Sunday Morning Sports – September 11, 2016

In MLB

The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Boston Red Sox 3-2, the New York Yankees took a 5-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays and the Baltimore Orioles hammered the Detroit Tigers 11-3.

The Red Sox sit at number one spot in the AL East with the Blue Jays trailing by one game, the Orioles are two games back and the Yankees are three games behind.

In the World Cup of Hockey

In pre-tournament action Canada beat the United States 5-2.

In the CFL

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers beat the Saskatchewan Roughriders 17-10 and the Calgary Stampeders beat the Edmonton Eskimos in overtime 34-28.

The Atlantic Football League kicks off today at noon as the UNB Saint John Seawolves host the Holland Hurricanes of PEI at the Canada Games Stadium.
