The city’s Finance Committee has been warned the widespread installation of water meters would be costly. Finance Committee members did not adopt a position on the issue.
It will be up to Common Council to decide whether or not to proceed.
Water meters have been suggested as a way to reduce water being wasted because you pay for how much water you use.
Critics have said it would penalise larger families because more people would be using water.
