Expect to See Officers Taking Part in Operation Impact This Weekend

Police officers in our region are taking part in Operation Impact a national campaign to keep Canadian roads safe.

It’s put together to remind people that a big part of law enforcement is to save lives and reduce injuries on our roadways.

The focus will be on behaviours that put drivers, passengers, and other road users at risk and those are impaired driving, seat belt use, and all aspects related to aggressive and distracted driving.

Media Officer Chuck Breen of the Saint John Police says the deaths, pain and broken hearts that result from carelessness behind the wheel can be prevented.

Operation Impact is being held across the country over the long weekend when more people are driving and traffic crashes are more frequent
