In the NHL, Jake Allen, from Fredericton, made 39 saves for St. Louis in a 4-2 win over Boston….Carolina got by Toronto 2-1…..Ottawa got two late goals to edge Montreal 4-3….It was Philadelphia over Florida 3-1 and the Islanders downed Anaheim 3-2 in a shootout.
Montreal Canadiens defenceman Nathan Beaulieu, who played for the Sea Dogs, left last night’s game against Ottawa after being hit by the puck in the area of his head and neck. Beaulieu was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
