Saint Johner To Receive Order Of Canada

Over 100 new appointees have been named to the Order of Canada, including a woman from Saint John.

Roxanne Fairweather is being recognized for her commitment to advancing research and innovation, and to creating new and sustainable economic opportunities in Atlantic Canada.

Fairweather is the co-CEO of Innovatia, a knowledge management and training services company based in Saint John.

Former premier Camille Henri Theriault is receiving the honour for his contributions as a parliamentarian in New Brunswick and his achievements in public governance.

Georges Henri Goguen is being recognized for his role as a pioneer of modern art in Acadia and for his dedication and promotion of visual arts.

Other New Brunswickers include Lyse Doucet of Bathurst, Ann McCain Evans from Florenceville-Bristol, and Francis Pang of Fredericton.

The Order of Canada is presented by the governor general and it honours individuals who help to shape society through service, ideas and compassion.

All of the recipients will be invited to attend a ceremony at a later date.
