Quispamsis is looking to land a world hockey tournament for November of 2018 in conjunction with Discover Saint John.
It’s the World Under 17 championship and the town will be submitting a bid to Hockey Canada next year.
The town’s Communications Manager Aaron Kennedy says the quality of the play in such a tournament would be top notch and Quispamsis established a good relationship with Hockey Canada in the hosting of the Telus Cup earlier this year.
Kennedy says it would be a regional tournament involving the use of Harbour Station as well as the Q-Plex.
