Teen Injured In Tobogganing Accident: Fire Officials

A teenage girl has been taken to hospital after an apparent tobogganing accident in Musquash, west of Saint John.

Lt. Rick Else of the Musquash Fire Department says the call came in around 1:20 p.m. Saturday.

Else says they went to the end of Stillwater Road and then used a side-by-side and trailer to travel across the ice of the East Branch Reservoir to the remote location of the incident.

“Firefighters assisted a female teenager with a lower body injury after what is believed to have been a tobogganing accident,” said Else in a news release.

Else said firefighters transported the teen back to the end of Stillwater Road before handing her over to paramedics.

The victim, who was conscious and alert, was taken to hospital for further care, he said.
