Rainbow Park To Get New Inclusive Playground

Rainbow Park in the South End will soon be getting a new playground thanks to a donation from Jumpstart, a Canadian Tire charity advocating for youth.

Saint John city staff say the current playgrounds at Rainbow Park have been there since the 90’s, and have reached the end of their life.

A presentation to city council Monday noted the playground will cost 1 million dollars to build, with $800,000 coming from Jumpstart and $200,000 from the city.

Jumpstart says the playground will be accessible for “kids of all abilities,” and promote values like community and getting youth outdoors.

Jumpstart is building these parks in every province across Canada to promote active living and getting youth outdoors.
