UPDATED: Ontario Man Killed In Welsford Crash

Police say a 33-year-old Ontario man has died after his vehicle left the road in Welsford, N.B.

Emergency crews were called to the scene on Highway 7 at Exit 63 just before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

“It’s believed the vehicle failed to negotiate the exit and overturned in the ditch,” the RCMP said Wednesday in a news release

The driver, who had recently been living in Oromocto, died at the scene from his injuries.

Police say an officer saw the vehicle driving northbound at a high rate of speed shortly before the crash.

“The member began travelling in the same direction of the vehicle, in an attempt to locate it, but did not regain sight of the car,” said the RCMP.

Shortly after, a 911 call was received about the crash involving the vehicle in question.

Police are still trying to piece together the cause of the crash.
