The high water levels on the Saint John River are starting to recede.
In the Saint John area, water levels will remain above flood stage until Saturday.
Roads closed by flooding in the city are not re-opened on a whim.
The roads are examined to see if the water has hauled away any material or infrastructure and crews also check for potholes and gaps.

Saint John EMO Director Kevin Clifford says the transition from flood response to flood recovery will ramp up over the next couple of days.
“The material we are going to help them move out, that is more or less recovery. There is a transition. I would say we are 15 to 20 percent response still ensuring that people are safe.” Clifford said.
Clifford says the folks cut off by flooding are feeling frustrated and they have a lot of questions.
“We understand that from folks who are isolated. We get that and we take that back to our after action to see if there are things we could do better.
I think our response has been good. The citizens have said that.” Clifford said.
