Plenty of smiles at a Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation information event on Wednesday evening.
President and CEO Jeff McAloon was on hand as the Foundation unveiled its new floor plan for the Clinic 1 expansion project.
McAloon was also able to give a new total to date.
“Of our 12 million dollars we are pleased to announce that as of June 12th we have raised $4,769,034.95,” stated McAloon.
The project is expected to see tenders called this Fall and construction begin after Christmas.
McAloon said “It will be a little more than a doubling of the floor space, we are going to have more private space to maintain privacy and get a better level of care.”

There are more than 40,000 patients a year that use the current clinic which has not seen any changes since the hospital opened in 1982.
