Gas Prices To Spike Tonight

A senior petroleum analyst believes a big jump in gas prices is likely in New Brunswick this week as the Canada Day weekend approaches.

Dan McTeague with Gasbuddy.com says gasoline may increase by about 4 to 5 cents per litre when the Energy and Utilities Board adjusts prices at midnight.

The average price for gas in New Brunswick is currently about $1.17 per litre.

Diesel could also go up by about 2.5 cents per litre this week.
