Travel Insurance Not Top Of Mind For Many: Survey

Summer is on of the busiest travel seasons among Canadians, but many claim travel insurance is not top of mind.

In a survey by the Travel Health Insurance Association of Canada, 47 per cent of respondents said checking their travel insurance policy is the last thing they do while planning a trip.

Nearly one-in-five said they did not even check their coverage before travelling.

Just over one-in-three people said they did not know or were unsure of what their travel insurance covered.

The same number of people were also unsure whether their provincial health insurance plan would cover them while travelling abroad.
