Stanley Cup Coming To N.B.

New Brunswick hockey fans will have a chance to see the Stanley Cup in person this summer.

St. Louis Blues goalie Jake Allen is bringing the trophy to Fredericton on August 1.

You will be able to get your photo taken with Allen and the Stanley Cup in Officers’ Square from noon to 2 p.m.

“We are looking forward to welcoming Jake home,” said Mayor Mike O’Brien in a statement.

“Jake has brought pride to Fredericton and we invite everyone to celebrate his championship success with him.”

Allen played for the Fredericton Midget ‘AAA’ Canadiens before being drafted in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League draft by the St. John’s Fog Devils.

He was then drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft and debuted in the league in 2012.

The event will take place rain or shine.
