Defence Team Reacts To Oland Verdict

Dennis Oland’s defence lawyer is reacting to the not-guilty verdict handed down on Friday.

Alan Gold says he hopes people will now leave Dennis alone because their polling in Saint John found just 27 per cent of people thought he was guilty.

“I hope they now understand and appreciate that Dennis Oland did not kill his father and understands the misery that he and his family and his friends and supporters have gone through in through the last eight years from the day the body was found because Dennis was the last known person [to see him alive],” stated Gold.

Gold then said the weapon used in this murder was unusual, to say the least, and perhaps the Saint John Police Force should have investigated its origins.

Gold was asked if he was mad at the Saint John Police Force for what it put Dennis through.

“I am disappointed in a police force that I say suffered tunnel vision,” Gold stated.

He also called on media to leave Dennis and his family alone because, after eight years, they deserve some peace.
