Manhunt Continues For B.C. Murder Suspects

Several Manitoba communities remain on edge as the manhunt continues for two murder suspects from British Columbia.

Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky are charged with second-degree murder in the death of a university professor.

They are also wanted in connection with the shooting deaths of two tourists from Australia and the United States.

The RCMP have spent the past several days combing the community of Gillam, Man., where a vehicle the suspects were driving was found torched last Monday.

But on Sunday, police switched their focus to York Landing, about 90 kilometres away, after receiving a tip two people matching the description of the suspects were spotted in the area.

Police said Monday morning the situation is ongoing and “all possible RCMP resources” are being used to find the individuals.
