Nao Santa María Comes To Saint Andrews

A replica of one of the world’s most famous ships will be in Saint Andrews this weekend.

The Nao Santa María will stop in the seaside community as part of the St. Andrews Tall Ship Event.

Christopher Columbus captained the Santa María during his first voyage across the Atlantic Ocean in 1492.

It was the largest of three ships used by Columbus during his voyage.

You can take a guided tour through the ship to learn more about its history and talk with the crew to feel how Spanish sailors lived 500 years ago.

Tours will take place Saturday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Saint Andrews Marina.
