Diesel And Furnace Oil Prices Jump

If you pull up to the pump for diesel Wednesday morning or expect a furnace oil delivery, you will be in for a shock.

Due to market fluctuations exceeding a specific limit on those two commodities Tuesday, the Energy and Utilities Board used its interrupter clause at midnight.

Prices for both jumped 8.2 cents a litre, although it is anticipated both commodities will return to their previous prices at midnight Wednesday night.

Energy analyst Dan McTeague believes gasoline will rise by 0.5 cents per litre this week when the Energy and Utilities Board resets prices Wednesday night.
