More Canadians Cast Votes At Advance Polls For 2019

Preliminary advance poll numbers have been released by Elections Canada.

For the first time, polling stations were open from the 11th to the 14th for twelve hours each day.

Chief Electoral Officer Stephane Perrault says around 4.7 million Canadians cast a ballot.

That’s a 29 per cent increase from 2015.

He notes these are just preliminary numbers, because not all polls have reported yet.

A breakdown by province, territory and electoral district will also be made available in the near future.
