The clock is winding down on the federal election campaign and the leaders are scrambling to get their message across to voters.
Liberal Justin Trudeau addressed the first anniversary of the legalization of cannabis claiming the goal of keeping it out of the hands of organized crime has been working.
While Trudeau says they made “significant progress” on that front but admits there is “much more” which needs to be done to “eliminate that black market altogether.”
Elsewhere on day 37 of the campaign NDP leader Jagmeet Singh accused Trudeau of failing to deliver on election reform.
Singh noted during the election of 2015 Trudeau promised 1,800 times to end the ‘first past the post’ system of election and then broke that pledge.
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer promised if elected prime minister, as part of his 100-day action plan, he will eliminate the carbon tax.
Scheer promises “Trudeau’s carbon tax will be history by January first, 2020.”
