Police Investigate Alleged Uptown Assault

Saint John police are releasing few details about a reported assault in the uptown over the weekend.

In a news release, police said they received a call about an assault early Sunday morning.

“The Major Crime Unit continues to investigate this incident,” read the release.

Our newsroom requested more information, but spokesperson Jim Hennessy said no other details are being released at this time.

“We would like to remind the public to be aware of your surroundings and try to stay in well-lit areas if you are travelling alone at night time or in the early morning hours,” said police.
