Calls To Modernize Information, Privacy Laws

Some concern about the information collected by governments at all levels.

Information and Privacy Ombudspersons and Commissioners across Canada say governments need to modernize their access to information and privacy laws.

They note the rapid advancement of technology and heighten concern about one’s use of personal information is forcing the need for change.

Most access and privacy laws in Canada have not been updated in more than 35 years.
