Bridge Closure In St. George

Some St. George residents will have to take a detour for the next few weeks.

The South Street Bridge, also known as the Lower Bridge, closed on Wednesday for repairs.

The closure is expected to last until Dec. 20, according to the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure’s online traffic advisories.

Town officials say the quickest detour is by using Main Street, Wallace Street, Brunswick Street and Campbell Hill Road, but they note the speed limit is 35 km/h throughout.
