Events To Help Potential Candidates Run

As some politicians reoffer and others retire, newbies looking to run in municipal elections can get all the information required in local events.

Candidates interested in running in Quispamsis can attend an event hosted by the town and Elections NB on February 20th at Town Hall.

It will include information for those running for town councils, DECs and regional health authorities.

Elections NB and the City of Saint John will team up for a candidate information session on Thursday at the Saint John Free Public Library in Market Square from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Chief Electoral Officer Kim Poffenroth will attend along with Anglophone South district education council chair Rob Fowler and Saint John councillor David Merrithew.

Fowler and Merrithew are both not re-offering.

The City will host another session on February 19th, also at the Saint John Public Library.

Nominations for the municipal elections open on March 23rd and close on April 9th.

2020 municipal elections are coming up Monday, May 11th.
