A major expansion project at the Saint John Regional Hospital is getting a big boost in funding.
It is all thanks to those who donated to the 8th annual Love Your Hospital Radiothon.
A total of $230,150 was raised during the 12-hour event at the hospital on Thursday.
Country 94 and our sister station, 97.3 The Wave, broadcasted live from the hospital all day.
Jeff McAloon, CEO of the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation, said the money will go toward the Clinic 1 renovation and expansion project.
The ambulatory clinic serves more than 40,000 people from across New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island each year.
McAloon said the designs for the renovation are almost complete. Construction is expected to start in May and last around 18 months.
