Four people escaped injury after a fire tore through a home in the community of Norton.

The Canadian Red Cross says the blaze on Perkins Drive was reported around 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Three people plus a visiting friend were in the home when the fire broke out.

“The acquaintance returned home to Saint John and Canadian Red Cross volunteers arranged emergency lodging, plus food and clothing purchases for a woman and two men from the damaged house,” said the Red Cross in a statement.

There is no word on what caused the blaze.
