Missing Man Last Seen Leaving Transit Bus

Saint John police have released new details in their search for a missing 69-year-old man.

James Garnett, who lives in the uptown area, has not been seen or heard from since April 1.

Police now say the last known sighting of Garnett was shortly before 9:30 p.m. that night.

“Mr. Garnett is seen on video surveillance exiting a [Saint John Transit] bus onto Douglas Avenue near the Reversing Falls Bridge,” said police in a news release Monday.

Garnett was last seen wearing a dark winter toque with a distinctive snowflake design, eyeglasses, a dark-coloured jacket, blue denim jeans, and black boots.

River Valley Ground Search and Rescue was brought in on April 14 to help with an “expansive search” for information, but police said Garnett was not located.

Police have said Garnett has health issues and his family is concerned for his well-being.
