United Way Takes Part In #GivingTuesdayNow

United Way Saint John, Kings & Charlotte is encouraging you to donate as part of #GivingTuesdayNow.

It is a new international day of giving and unity as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“There are lots people in Saint John continuing to struggle with basic needs such as food security and safe housing, along with needs for mental health and social supports due to COVID-19,” said Alexya Heelis, interim executive director of the United Way, in a release.

An anonymous, local supporter has printed 100 large signs with the “I (heart) My Saint John” design which has been seen across the city and on social media.

The first 100 people to donate $100 or more will get a sign to put on their lawn or in a window.

All donations will go toward local organizations supporting individuals and families who need it most.

“Now, more than ever, we need to pull together to support our city’s most vulnerable,” said Heelis.
