Canadian Armed Forces Members To Be Honoured With Repatriation Ceremony

A repatriation ceremony will be held Wednesday afternoon in Ontario for the six Canadian Armed Forces members killed in a helicopter crash during Operation Reassurance.

They were killed last week in the Ionian Sea off Greece when the helicopter they were flying in went down just moments before landing on HMCS Fredericton.

The ceremony is being held at CFB Trenton at 3:30 p.m. Atlantic Time and will be livestreamed on the Canadian Armed Forces Facebook page.

The body of Sub-Lieutenant Abbigail Cowbrough of Dartmouth, N.S., is the only one to be recovered to date.

Five others are missing and presumed dead. Captain Brenden Ian MacDonald of New Glasgow, N.S., Captain Kevin Hagen of Nanaimo, B.C., Captain Maxime Miron-Morin of Trois-Rivieres, Que., Sub-Lieutenant Matthew Pyke of Truro, N.S., and Master Corporal Matthew Cousins of Guelph, Ont.
