The NHL is returning after it paused the regular season in March because of the pandemic.
Commissioner Gary Bettman says 24 teams, 12 from each conference, will take part in a specialized playoff format.
“We will resume play and conduct the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs in two hub cities which will be announced at a later date,” Bettman announced.
There is no official start date for the return of play.
