The City of Saint John has revealed its phased approach to bringing back services safely while keeping the financial impacts of COVID-19 in mind.
A number of services and facilities opened on May 19 including the cashier’s office and online permitting and inspection services.
Services that will be reinstated this summer include beaches, dog parks and splash pads and Saint John Water meter testing, replacement and water quality testing.
This fall, its expected P.R.O. Kids placements can resume along with community standards and vacant buildings programs.

Several programs have been suspended temporarily including the Passport to Parks event series, the six-week playground program and recreational programs.
The annual planting program has been suspended with the exception of some flowering baskets and basic garden maintenance.
The asphalt overlay program on existing street surfaces is suspended but, surface maintenance and pothole repair will continue this year.
The suspension of programs and services will help the city offset $5 million in revenue loss expected from COVID-19.
